Told in reverse chronology, Betrayal moves through different permutations of betrayal relating to a seven-year affair involving a married couple, Emma and Robert, and Robert's "close friend" Jerry, who is also married, to a woman named Judith.  The play begins with a scene that occurs after the affair is over, and moves backwards in time to conclude with the first moment of infidelity.  Written by Harold Pinter.
